April M. Harris was born in the beautiful state of North Carolina where she was inspired by her grandparents and parents.  They laid the biblical foundation that taught her how to love God, love herself, and love others.  Her grandparents gave without expecting anything in return, giving unconditionally.  Her parents continue living that legacy and have passed it on to April who shares this legacy of unconditional love and giving with her son Demil and through her writings and speaking engagements.

April loves to speak to audiences touching their hearts with her message and song.  She grew up as a young girl spending countless hours with her grandparents listening to their words of wisdom.  She taught the youth in many areas at church: Vacation Bible School, Sunday school and Children’s Church.

She is a member of Toastmaster’s International, a speaking and leadership organization, where she enjoys speaking. (Find out how you can become a better speaker and leader.  Visit  www.toastmasters.org for a club in your area.)

She grew up with the traditional nucleus family—grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles and cousins.  The families attended church together and ate breakfast and dinner together.  The people in the community were there to support one another and would discipline the children, even if they were not their own.  It was a known fact that you respected everyone, anyone that was older than you – family, neighbors, church members, anyone in the grocery store or walking down the road.

The words that her grandparents left her are embedded in her heart for ever.  She is now fulfilling her purpose in life—to speak to others touching one heart at a time.  Her first book, Give Love ♥  ♥  ♥ Inspirational Messages for Parents and Children was released April 30, 2011 by Xlibris Publishing.

Her grandmother Mozelle’s favorite scripture was, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13. This has been her scripture that has helped sustain her through the good times and bad times, the trials and tribulations of life.

April has a passion for both working with the youth and connecting them with others to provide the spiritual substance they need to succeed and connect with her audience with her personal stories and songs that come from her heart.  She has been speaking for over 30 years. Her inspirational messages are written to inspire and motivate.

April has been inspired by the words of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.  Her favorite quote is about integrity:

“Integrity. When your character is built on spiritual and moral foundation, your contagious way of life will influence millions.”

Other favorite Dr. King quotes:

“I have decided to stick with love.  Hate is too great a burden to bear.”

“Love is the only force capable of transforming an enemy into a friend.”

“Peace is not merely a distant goal that we seek, but a means by which we arrive at that goal.”
